19th IPNA Congress
Calgary, Canada

Oral Presentation Guidelines (On-Site)

PRESENTATION FORMAT (PowerPoint preferred)

All lectures will be streamed online, recorded and made available as on-demand sessions. Therefore, all speakers are kindly asked to prepare their presentations with care for online viewing, including any applicable consent for the text and/or photo usage.

English is the official language of the Congress. Presenting authors are entirely responsible for the presentation content; they should omit any type of advertisement and they are expected to include their potential and/or actual conflict of interest on the second slide of their presentation.

Drugs should be referred to by their generic name (or generic plus trade name if needed).

The preferred presentation format is a PowerPoint file (*.pptx) with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Please also note that any video files should be embedded and played from your PowerPoint presentation.

Please avoid using Keynote and Prezi. The on-site computers will handle Windows versions of PowerPoint only. The following file types are supported:

  • Presentation: PPT, PPTX, PDF
  • Video: AVI, MPG, MKV, MOV, MP4, WMV

We invite you to use the IPNA template for your PowerPoint presentation, it is available HERE (please download a copy of this general template). Of course, you can add your institution logos if desired.

PRESENTATION UPLOAD (at least 2 hours before your session starts!)

Please note that you cannot use your own computer to present due to the complexity of the streaming/virtual/hybrid platform.

In order to give a presentation, you need to deliver your presentation file to the Speakers’ Preview Room (Room Glen 205) at least two hours before your session. Please bring your presentation to the venue on a USB flash drive.

The presentation for an early morning session should be handed over the evening before. If you are a speaker on the first day of the Congress, please bring it as soon as possible in the morning. In the Preview Room, AV technicians will check the presentation setting, videos, fonts or similar and they will assist with possible issues.
Your presentation will be automatically available in the corresponding lecture room.

We kindly ask all speakers NOT to come at the last minute with their computer into the lecture room. All presentations must be uploaded in the Speakers’ Preview Room in advance.

Speakers’ Preview Room opening hours:

  • Wednesday, 7 September: 7:30 – 18:00
  • Thursday, 8 September: 7:30 – 19:15
  • Friday, 9 September: 6:00 – 20:30
  • Saturday, 10 September: 6:15 – 18:30
  • Sunday, 11 September: 6:45 – 17:00

HOW TO PRESENT

All speakers are requested to be present in the session room about 10 minutes before the session starts to meet the session chair(s).

Once the presentation is launched on the computer in the respective lecture room, you will advance your own slideshow using the remote controller. Please keep to your allocated time.

If any problems were to occur, there will be assisting AV staff in each lecture room.

COORDINATION WITH OTHER SPEAKERS IN YOUR SESSION

Given that talks at IPNA 2022 are relatively short, the chair(s) of your session will coordinate the session speakers (this may beneficially include discussion between speakers) to decide on the optimal order of session speakers and minimise repetition between speakers.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the IPNA 2022 Secretariat at speakers@ipna2022.org
